Setting the Bar

expectations.... realities..... nary a chance they cross. take packing, for example. you would think that, after 2 moves, we would have more realistic expectations. amount of stuff, number of boxes, days required, movers being on time......... kyle, and the fact that we live in that place on the map that is constantly being obscured by jim cantori's weather-forecasting head, have conspired to keep us hear a few more days...as suz reminded me earlier...you can checkout any time you like, but you can never leave........ ......................................OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

expectations........thursday's debate........what are the expectations. well here the expectations are that this uniquely and supremely unqualified, tranny-makeup-wearing, ignorant, speaking-in-tongues, book-burning hockey mom's fifteen minutes are almost up. Read some more here, and here, and here. and here's one more that i asked you to read the other day. enjoy. educate.

all packed up & no place to go!

Mister Ollie is none too pleased and is giving us the WTF? 'tude although we are just as tired and confined to kennel-style quarters until a) rain clears and we can stage stuff outside or b) the internet-special no show movers do show and finally take our stuff to the "land of enchantment"....
Soon Toto, sooon!

30 winks.......

What the hell is a wink? How do you measure it? And why 30? Is that the standard? Minimum? Is a wink greater than a Z? would catch them too, if it was an option. Anyway....didn't get nearly enough of either to stop, or even dull, the pain....eyes hurt...entire head hurts. Suz off to acquire more tape, wrap, boxes, and strength. May the Goddess bless her tired, big, overfunctioning heart and battered hands (mastering a tape gun is not a skill that comes easily for the over-tired). well, I'm off to pack up the TV, dog crate, shelving, yard furniture, garden tools....................

And one more thing.................................sun! (though the ground is still soaked

Oh yeah, one more..........go read this

Shortages........

......of boxes, paper, tape, TIME. No shortage of stuff to pack though. Amazing, we thought we had really pared down.......but no...we still have a lot of SHIT. Getting a little goofy now...been at it for 15+ hours..short break for dinner, another for Californication (season premier!!!). Time to shower and collapse. Gotta get some sleep....movers here 'late morning'. Hours of packing remain before we're finished.....tomorrow's another day.

Oh yeah, one good thing........Kyle fizzled after getting a chilly Maine reception. HA HA!!

Rainy Day Boxes #12 and 35

Well, it's 14 hours later....still lots o' boxes ....and someone is finally showing signs of nervousness. One more day, that's all we have. Movers will be here late Monday morning.......hurricane hits late Sunday night, early Monday morning...we seem to be at the bullseye...ought to be fun. On another note.....Our lives have been quite a roller coaster ride lately.....up/down, up/down. Won our last left-right-center game last night....(gas money...it'll get us outta Maine). Today, sold our Jeep Cherokee. It ALMOST made it out of the driveway......Jeep craps out just after the sale's completed......guess that's better that just before the sale. Last time we sold a vehicle (traded Jetta for Liberty), it died in the dealer's lot as we were driving the new Jeep home to try it for the weekend. Wasn't our fault then either...the damn thing wouldn't start after you would make a left turn then park......sorta halved our parking options. Anyway, I think next time we'll just keep the damn thing until it stops running......then we'll park it in the driveway, where it will last forever...the joys of zero-humidity.

cardboard, cardboard everywhere.........

...says it all. Our life is cardboard now. Later today it'll be wet cardboard, as Kyle heads this way to drench us ... landfall tomorrow.. ..here. Fitting, welcomed to New England by a nor'easter, the great 'ice storm', and early nightfalls. Time to get outta Dodge. Cardboard and a happy/sad time of 'lasts': 'maggie's farm' ... left-right-center (gas money!!) ... tea & news in the morning ...... and Paul Newman
